COVID-19 Dashboard and Definitions

(From Addendum 5: Interim Guidance for Responding to COVID-19 Scenarios in CT School Districts)

Close Contact: Spending at least 15 minutes within 6 feet of a person with confirmed COVID-19, or direct exposure to possibly infected droplets of saliva or nasal mucus.

Isolation: Individuals with signs or symptoms of COVID-19, or a positive test, stays home until no longer infectious for at least 10 days since the onset of symptoms and until at least 24 hours have passed with no fever (without fever-reducing medications) and with improvement in other COVID-19 symptoms.

Quarantine: Individuals without symptoms stay home for up to 14 days since last exposure. After 10 days with no symptoms, individuals may return to school and continue mask-wearing and social distancing. Students may not participate in sports or extracurricular activities until the full 14 days is complete. Staff needs to limit activities that prevent them from maintaining social distance. There is no option to test out of quarantine.

Travel Guidelines:

Domestic Travelers

Individuals who enter Connecticut after spending twenty-four (24) hours or longer in another state (besides NY, NJ, or RI) are expected to do the following:

1. Fill out a travel health form upon arrival in Connecticut.

2. Do one of the following:

a. Self-quarantine for ten (10) days upon arrival.

b. Test negative for COVID-19 in the seventy-two (72) hours prior to arrival or at any time after arrival (self-quarantining until the results are received).

c. If previously diagnosed and clinically recovered in the past ninety (90) days, self-quarantining is not required.

d. Travelers remaining in Connecticut for fewer than twenty-four (24) hours are not required to self-quarantine.

Under options 2b and 2c above, travelers must provide written proof to the Commissioner of the Department of Public Health at DPH.COVID-Travel@ct.gov or via fax: (860) 326-0529.

International Travelers

1. Get tested 3-5 days after travel

2. Stay home and self-quarantine for 7 days after returning from travel

3. Even if you test negative, stay home and self-quarantine for the full 7 days

4. If your test is positive, isolate yourself to protect others from getting infected

5. ​If you don’t get tested, stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel

6. Avoid being around people who are at increased risk for severe illness for 14 days
