Adjudicators assist in the judging process for MPA events, Performance Choirs, and if needed, Honors Chorus auditions. To be an adjudicator you must meet the following criteria:
A minimum of five years teaching middle school
Consistent Superior ratings from state-level adjudicated events
Good standing with the NCMEA Middle School Executive Board and Section
A current or retired member of NCMEA and NAfME
NEW for 2024-2025: Adjudicators will be required to renew their adjudication status every THREE years by attending an adjudication training session, either in-person at the annual NCMEA Professional Development Conference in Winston-Salem or online. Failure to renew your status will be grounds for automatic removal from the list. As a board, we believe that it is vital that our adjudicators are up-to-date and current on the trends and expectations of middle school singers, especially once they have left the classroom.
