Hello! My name is Vanessa Whited but I do prefer that the students call me Ms. Whited or Ms. W. If you'd like to know how to pronounce it: "I used white-out on it; I WHITED it out." or " Why ted?"
I am passionate about nature, travel, my family, the youth of the world, and helping people (and myself) grow.
This is my little family, Alex and our little "budders" Tucker.
While Tucker is not 'down' for traveling, Alex and I love having adventures. We've been to 18 National Parks, 16 states, and the 2 U.S. coasts together. We love taking our own photos and being able to remember our adventures by printing our photos and displaying them in our 'gallery' at home.
Although he's not into outdoor adventures, Tucker is THE BEST cat. He is friendly but not all up in your grill. He is currently 10 and the most loving and fun cat. Alex used to be exclusively a 'dog person', now he is definitely a cat man.
I completed the Oregon Transfer Degree at Portland Community College (an associates degree that completes most Oregon college pre-requisite classes and allows you to transfer as a Junior) then transferred to Portland State University. At PSU I competed a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics then went on to complete a Masters in Education.
I worked for a short time as an Instructional Assistant at Cedar Mill Elementary School but before that I worked as a Graphic Designer at a Photography Studio for five years while I was completing my Undergrad. I am passionate about graphic design and love crafting as well, I'm happy to take on creative opportunities whenever I can.
If you'd like to see more photographs from my adventures, you can view my Flickr here.
