I am an ELD Specialist here at Rowe and am so excited to be with you all. I was born and raised in Oregon. I attended Oregon State University where I obtained my bachelor's degrees in English and Education. Upon graduating, I substitute taught in many districts in the Portland Metropolitan area for two years. Then, I decided to make a big, somewhat scary, yet very exciting, life changing decision to move to Spain to teach English.
I lived and worked in Madrid, Spain for a total of 4 years and received my master's degree in Multicultural and Bilingual Education at the Universidad de Alcalá-Instituto Franklin during my last year there. Throughout my time abroad, I traveled to many places in Europe and Africa and met some of the most amazing people, all of which contributed to an experience that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
Since returning to the US a few years ago, I have had the pleasure of being an ELD specialist in the North Clackamas School District. This year, I will be co-teaching 6th grade Social Studies with Skyler Stevenson and Christine Saulsbury, in addition to teaching Newcomer and Beginner English Language Development (ELD). I feel very lucky to have planted myself within the Rowe community and am looking forward to continue learning and growing with you. Go Shamrocks!
I have a 9 year old dog. She is a black lab and hound mixed breed. She has lots of personality :)
I am a big time foodie! I love to cook and eat good food. Tell me your favorite food or place to eat! I especially love Latin American and Asian foods.
I have continued experimenting with gardening this year and feel like I am getting better at it. My addition this year was 5 different tomato plants!
I enjoy reading, so please let me know if you have any great book recommendations.
This is my dog, Kaia.
We took a day trip to Cannon Beach 2 summers ago.
