Practice Problems
Students will be given practice problems daily so that they can practice the concepts covered in class. Solution keys will be available in class and on the website. Students will have opportunities to ask questions about the practice problems the following class period. Students will not be given a grade for the practice problems, but these problems are similar to ones they could see on a future assessment. Records of who completes the practice problems may be kept.
Unit Assessments/Quizzes
These forms of assessment are opportunities to show what each student understands about a specific standard or concept. These will be given often during the semester with opportunities to retake (see retake policy on specific course pages).
Performance Tasks (Geometry)
This form of assessment has students apply their understandings of concepts to real-world problems and allows for students to think deeper about the learning targets.
Retake Policy
Students can retake any assessment. Please click the class link below for the specific class retake policy.
Assessment Grading Scale
Courses will be graded using standards based grading (SBG). SBG is an assessment and feedback system that establishes the learning goals of the class, align all parts of the curriculum to the course goals, and gives students actionable feedback about their strengths and weaknesses.
Each learning goal on each assessment will be given a grade based on the student’s demonstration of the learning goal. The possible assessment scores and their description are shown below.
