This is a hybrid course. That means that we will have both face to face and remote/online meetings. The first module will be entirely remotely. We will begin to have face to face meetings in module II. The course, however, is entirely available on Canvas. Here you can find a detailed schedule of our meetings.

This is an Upper- level course that, on average we will read 150 pages per week. There are weeks that we will read around 200 pages. Plan to expend between 4-5 hours of reading per week. You will have to read the following:
Hoffnung-Garskof, Jesse. 2019. Racial migrations: New York City and the revolutionary politics of the Spanish Caribbean, 1850-1902. Prologue and chapters 1-3.
This course will require you to write around 45 pages. The writing assignments are scattered throughout the semester.
