Rising High Schoolers

The programming process for students transitioning from grade 8 to grade 9 is underway. Current teachers have made course recommendations for each student in the areas of English, Social Studies, Math, Science, and World Language (if applicable). Please note that teachers have given careful consideration to ensure that your child will be both challenged and successful in their recommended courses.  

We request that you take the time to review and familiarize yourself with the recommended courses for grade 9 outlined in the Shaker High School Course Catalog. This catalog provides detailed information about the various programs offered at Shaker High School, as well as the prerequisites that need to be fulfilled prior to enrollment. Please note that students identified with special education services will have their support periods finalized through the annual review process.

Any course change request that occurs after course selections are made in March must be submitted in writing by May 10, 2024 to your child’s middle school counselor. It's important to note that no changes to course requests can be made after this date.
