Mr. Mullen's ELA 9, 10, 12 and Creative Writing Website
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year. I will use this site throughout the year for various things, but Google Classroom will remain the primary delivery method of instruction for all ELA and Creative Writing classes. This will be the site to go to, however, if absent and needing to see the day's Agender. Below, please find the grading policies for all classes, which includes information on some of what will be worked on in the classes themselves.
Grading: 9th HonorsGrading: 10thGrading: 10th HonorsGrading: 12thI have not posted a grading sheet for the Creative Writing electives as they are Pass/Fail based on completion of assignments that all count equally. There are eight writing tasks posted per semester. To pass and get the 1/2 credit per semester, six must be completed. They are considered passing if turned in and given an honest effort. They are not assessed based on actual ability as a creative writer. These are elective courses to learn and to have fun in and should not bring added academic pressure. Work for regular classes should take priority. As Pass/Fail electives, these courses have no bearing on overall average or class ranking. However, taking both semesters does earn a full credit towards the graduation requirement.

My name is Mr. Mullen. This is my 21st year teaching at NCCS.
Some things to know about me: I am a major animal lover and have two dogs and, at present, seven cats. I drink massive amounts of coffee each day. I do not wear the same tie twice during the school year.
Although I always look mad, I am not. I just happen to have a very limited range of facial expressions. I could fake it better when we had to wear masks, but now I am back to always looking upset.
Please know, that unless I am in a meeting, you are always welcome to come to my room during one of my preps or my lunch period. I am also available to provide help before or after school, just give me a day's notice when possible.
