NCAS Introduction to Atmospheric Radar Course, 8th-11th June 2026, Leeds
The Introduction to Atmospheric Radar course will consist of traditional lectures interspersed with data access/analysis sessions.
The topics covered will include:
the fundamental physics and concepts behind weather and cloud radar measurements, including the Doppler and dual-polarisation techniques
identification and interpretation of atmospheric phenomena
remapping radar data for comparison with models and other observations
understanding the limitations and uncertainties in radar measurements.
Aeroecology: Exploring Biodiversity with Radar
Learn the principles of radar and how radar data can tell us about the diversity and abundance of organisms
Explore how to apply radar to provide novel approaches to the study of complex questions in biodiversity research
