Cranfield University is a postgraduate-only public research university in the United Kingdom that specialises in science, engineering, design, technology and management. Cranfield was founded as the College of Aeronautics in 1946.
The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) are delighted to be strengthening existing connections with Cranfield University. Strategic programs, such as the "Constructing a Digital Environment" initiative, benefit from Cranfield academics leading research on the role of digital data in understanding environmental change. Additionally, Cranfield academics have been appointed to NERC's Science Committee, advising on research, innovation, and training priorities.
Situated close to Milton Keynes and Bedford, the Cranfield campus is situated in Wharley End, very close to Cranfield village, and is about 10 minutes from the M1 motorway. There is rail and road access to most major airports, as well as coach and train stations. Cranfield campus also has its own airport for private executive business travel.
