ABOUT ME

I am originally from Mexico and I moved to the US when I was thirteen years old. I have lived in 4 countries and 7 US states. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Texas at El Paso and a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oakland University.  I worked for the automotive industry for nine years before retiring to raise and homeschool my two kids (my daughter just graduated from college and my son is currently at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY). 

I brought up both my kids with classical education, which allowed my family to travel all over the world and expose my children to many different cultures, languages, and traditions. For two years, I taught upper level math and physics at an all-boys military academy in Virginia and this will be my first year at Ascent Classical Academy. I am very excited to discover the world of mathematics along side my students and I hope to encourage in them the love I have for the subject.
