Homework Expectations
Every night (in addition to daily homework) students should:
-Work no more than an hour
-Read at least 20 minutes
- Spelling words (to study) will be listed on this website when we start Spelling.
(For those who find reading challenging, I recommend listening to an audio recording of the book while reading along.)
-Our novels and packets should go home and return to school daily.
At times, these books will have some reading to do at home. Some students may be tempted to skip this, but please encourage your child to do the reading, and sign their planner daily to verify that they did read for at least 20 minutes. This will help build reading comprehension, oral reading ability, and more.
Note about weather: Please remember to send your child to school with whatever outerwear may be appropriate for the weather forecast. We go outside for recess most days, even in the winter.
Dates listed are when the homework was assigned. Typically, it is due the next day, unless I have given alternate instructions.
There may be additional homework for students who did not complete their classwork.
Reminder: Math tutoring is available during carline on Mondays and Wednesdays. If your child got 6/10 on the most recent math quiz, I request that they attend at least one of the week's tutoring session. If you would specifically like to request tutoring for your child on a Monday or Wednesday, please email me so that I can make sure they participate.

Little Lamb who made thee
Dost thou know who made thee
Gave thee life & bid thee feed.
By the stream & o'er the mead;
Gave thee clothing of delight,
Softest clothing wooly bright;
Gave thee such a tender voice,
Making all the vales rejoice!
Little Lamb who made thee
Dost thou know who made thee
Little Lamb I'll tell thee,
Little Lamb I'll tell thee!
He is called by thy name,
For he calls himself a Lamb:
He is meek & he is mild,
He became a little child:
I a child & thou a lamb,
We are called by his name.
Little Lamb God bless thee.
Little Lamb God bless thee.

Announcements
Please ensure that students are ready for school in their uniforms. Information about dress code is on the school website and in the family handbook, and please remember that student cell phones should be turned off in the morning, and smart watches should be left at home or turned off in the backpack.
If your student is struggling with cursive, please have them practice at home. Reach out to Mrs. Popham if you need resources for this.
