School Pass - REMINDER: switch the settings to have most recent names first, and to show more than 20 names.
Students should bring their backpack and everything they need to bring home with them to seventh period, so they are ready for carline.
At 2:55, teachers with a 7th period prep will head to the gym and help set up benches for carline
At 2:55, teachers that are teaching 7th period can pull up their carline and any students that have been scanned into carline should not walk down to the gym but go to the carline doors at 3:00 PM
At the end of 7th period, all staff and students proceed to the gym; teachers will lead their students down to ensure all go to the gym
Upper School students who drive will be escorted to the lobby, and those waiting to be picked up through carline will go to the gym; no students should be left in classrooms/hallway/bathrooms
Teachers who are not assisting with carline will line up by the gym doors and wait for students who have previously arranged for tutoring to join them; once the teacher has accounted for all of their tutoring students, they may head to a classroom for tutoring
Absolutely no tutoring in the modulars.
For the teachers who are assisting with carline that day, they will have the following positions:
1 teacher has Schoolpass pulled up and is using the microphone to call names
1 teacher walks around the gym and remind students to go when their name is called
1 of those teachers floats between the gym and the hallway to make sure students are heading out to carline. This teacher will dismiss students in schoolpass as they leave, and keep an eye on students going to the restroom.
1 teacher is outside monitoring students as they wait to be picked up
These positions can be decided on by each carline team; it is recommended that people rotate positions each week, but you can decide as a team how you would like to do this
During carline, students must be sitting on the benches; no one should be up and walking around
Students may sit wherever they like, but if it becomes a pattern that they miss hearing their name called, or they do not follow other expectations, they can lose free seating privileges
Students may chat quietly, play card games, work on homework, etc.
No cell phones or other electronics! If a student has their phone out, please give it to the front office staff - please make sure you let them know who it belongs to
At 3:20, students still in the gym will assist with putting away the benches and wait for the all call over the loud speaker. Any students remaining will go wait at waiting zone for further instruction.
August 26-September 1: Dismissal from classroom
September 2-4: All teachers are expected to be in the gym or other positions, so we and the students can learn the new procedure.
Following TBD
Study hall is now daily, for twenty minutes. This is intended to give a more consistent structure, allowing for more meaningful use of the time. Please help develop a quiet, scholarly atmosphere in your classroom.
Students should be doing homework or reading a book. This should be silent or very quiet.
Movement. We want limited movement between classes, and no loitering. If there are too many students wandering the halls, we may lose movement altogether, which will limit the value of study hall.
If students want to leave to talk to another teacher, they need to have gotten that teacher's permission in advance. If they forgot, DO NOT allow them to leave. Tell them to make sure to ask to meet the teacher tomorrow.
If you have students coming to visit you, please put their names on the spreadsheet for that day.
Feel free to limit the number of students coming, if you do not have enough room.
Students will keep their supplies in their fourth period class, so they should not need to leave to get materials.
Students in good standing will be allowed to leave early for lunch starting on September 8th.
Ms. Burley will send you a list of the students in good standing each week.

House games will be most Fridays, during study hall
Rather than all houses meeting, only two houses will be competing each Friday on a rotating schedule
The competitions will take place outside (if possible) or in a section of the gym in bad weather
Grammar school will be finishing up their lunch, so the games will be in a marked off section
Students that are competing that week may wear their house shirts
Hosts can wear your house color (if you remember…)

Students who are absent are allowed the same number of days that they are absent to make up missing work.
exception: If they are absent for part of a project they already knew about, they should still turn it in on time, assuming they didn't miss class work time.
As of 2026-27, students are also expected to make up missing homework, under the same policy as missing assessments and projects.
If students do not turn in work on time, they may turn it in for credit during the following week.
Assignments turned in one (school) day late will receive 75%
Assignments turned in 2-5 (school) days late will receive 50%
Assignments can be turned in after that, but they will not be received credit.
