Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese artist who is sometimes called ‘the princess of polka dots' because her work is often covered in dots!

Her work uses repetition, pattern and contrast.

She makes lots of different types of art like paintings, sculptures, performances and installations.

She moved to New York City in the 1950s and soon became a famous artist. She lives back in Japan now and is still making art to this day!
