Students in grade 4 may take out two materials (books and magazines).
Students in grade 3 will start the year with 1 book. As they show they are responsible with their book, they will take two books.
Students in grades 1-2 students may take out one book.
Kindergarten students may take out one book starting in mid-October.
Students may renew a book one time, please still bring this book on your library day.
A student will not be allowed to check out more books if others have not been returned. If a book has become damaged or lost it must be replaced or paid for.
In order for everyone to enjoy popular series, I request that students limit themselves to one book from a series at a time. This enables other students to have access to books in the series as well.
Books may not be placed on hold due to the volume of check in and outs in our school library.
One of my goals this year is to help your child grow in their love and appreciation of books. Part of appreciating books is caring for them. I want our collection to stay in good condition so that many students can enjoy our books. If a book is severely damaged or lost, you will need to either replace the book or pay the replacement cost of the book. Please help reinforce the following book care practices with your child so our library books will be returned in the same condition in which they were borrowed:
Use a bookmark, do not bend pages.
Turn pages carefully from the top corner.
Keep books clean and dry.
Protect books from pets and younger children.
Do not draw or color in your books or magazines.
