The Dragon Choir is seeking new members! It’s not too late to join the Dragon Choir for the 2025-2026 School year! We are growing and we have room for YOU! Interested students should contact Mrs. Gallegos or their counselor for more information and/or to sign up!
10 Reasons why YOU should join the Dragon Choir:
Singing in Groups is Fun! We work as a team to learn and grow together through fun exercises and activities! Don’t like to sing alone? You don’t have to! Want to bust out a solo? There’s opportunities for that as well!
Flexible Schedule! There’s only four required performances throughout the year and there’s a TON of optional ones that get us out in the community and further your choir experience! So whether you have a little bit of time to contribute or a lot, you have a place in the Dragon Choir!
Gain a Family! We spend lots of time getting to know each other and building lasting friendships in the Dragon Choir. The Dragon Choir supports one another and provides a great place to belong!
Attend Events & Travel! Choir members can perform at Wassailfest, go on a recruitment tour, perform in the New Braunfels community, and attend local professional performances. We are also planning a THREE DAY OVERNIGHT TRIP for Spring 2026 filled with great activities, a performance in a state-of-the-art facility, and lots of fun!
Learn How to Read Music Really Well! Never seen sheet music before? I’ll teach you how! Great at sightreading? I’ll teach you how to be even better!
Choir Socials with LOTS OF FOOD! We have regular socials including: Karaoke kick-off party, Halloween party, Christmas party, Palentines social, Spring social, and End of Year Banquet! And we always have lots of food at our socials!
POP SHOW! Our end of year concert is all popular music of various genres! The show will feature professional choreography, costuming and opportunities for pop soloists to perform! It’s a great way to end our year and is so much fun!
Rock at Competition! Choir members have the opportunity to compete in solo and group competitions! In our first year we had four students advance to Area Choir where they had the chance to audition for the All-State Choir!
Earn a Letterman Jacket! You can earn an LCHS Letterman Jacket in CHOIR even as a Freshman! Every choir member has the opportunity to qualify for their letterman in their first year!
We Share Well! The Choir schedule is flexible and allows for students to be involved in many other activities! Current Dragon Choir members are involved in AP courses, Art, Band, Business Professionals of America, Color Guard, Criminal Justice, Dance, FFA, Forensics, Golf, Leo Club, Music Club, Soccer, Student Council, Tennis, Theatre, Track, World Language Club and more!
HIGH SCHOOL COURSE PLANNING
Yes, you can pursue Choir AND so much more!!
If credits were earned in middle school (such as Algebra I, etc.) students will have additional elective space in their schedule.
TWO of the elective spots above must be specific to your chosen endorsement.
Please see the NBISD High School Course Catalog for more information and for specifics for each endorsement.
In many cases, courses can be moved around from year to year and do not necessarily need to follow the example above.
