Three Positive
1. Unit Advancement: Distinguished Unit for two consecutive school years 2022 - 2023 and 2023 – 2024.
2. Outstanding Support: School and local community with outstanding opportunities for guest speakers that include recruiters from all branches of the service to include the U.S. Coast Guard.
3. Communication: Our school counselors list NS1 – NS4 classes in the course guide and the school counselors communicate almost daily with the NJROTC Instructors involving student enrollment. Also, positive contact and communication between NJROTC Instructors and school administrators, making for a sound program!
Three things to ask the district to help with
1. We REQUIRE a dedicated place for drill. With current security requirements for our students, we
have limited space in our shooting range to practice during the school day for our Annual Military Inspection (AMI). For our “Team” practice, we currently utilize the parking lot, which works, however it is still outside of the safety zone for our cadets.
2. Administrative/Financial support with Wide Area Work Flow reimbursements. The time for
Instructor Reimbursements and all other funds such as Unit Support Maintenance (USM) coming from the United States Navy take too long to transfer to our accounts, i.e months vs. weeks.
3. Transparency of district funds to view availability.
