The NNOC 2026 is a large event with well over 450+ runners, add on the family and friends that come out, the number is even larger! We welcome volunteers, but there are requirements that have to be met.
We never want to turn someone away for volunteering; however, all adults who are working with minors in Interscholastic competitions must be vetted and approved to participate as a volunteer working with minor students. They must be vetted and approved by their respective runner's school district. This is a Marion County Public Schools (MCPS) district policy and is probably your school district's policy as well.
Both Gord Hunter of SOAR and Blaik Matthews of FLO have already been vetted through MCPS. Rest assured that all adults who are volunteering at the NNOC 2026 have been vetted and approved by MCPS.
If schools other than Vanguard HS have parents that want to volunteer, they will need to go through the volunteer vetting process of their respective school district. Once that is complete the respective NJROTC Instructor who is coming to the NNOC 2026 will then send CPO Ingram the meet director an email that states the name of the volunteer, point of contact information, and that he or she has been vetted through the respective school district. Once CPO Ingram receives the information from the instructor, he will reach out to the volunteer.
If there are volunteers who are not associated with respective school districts, then they can apply with the MCPS and once they receive their approval email, they will need to forward that email to CPO Ingram at daniel.ingram@marion.k12.fl.us
