The next beach cleanup Green Club is hosting will take place on April 13th at Nauset Beach in Orleans at 10:30am (as seen on the calendar above). This is open to the public and we would love to see you there. We are reaching out to other Cape schools to see if their environmental clubs will join us.

Our club hopes to visit the middle school in the near future (date TBD) to educate the students on climate change, see (and add to) their schools sustainable habits, and influence them to join Green Club once they reach the highschool level.

The Nauset woodshop gifted student-made birdhouses to our club. We are looking forward to painting them and hanging them around campus.
Green Threads Building

We are in the process of planning, and fundraising, for building a physical Green Threads shack on campus to have a designated spot for our thrift store.

Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative Conference
Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative Conference
On Thursday, October 24, 2024, Green Club members attended the Net Zero conference hosted by Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative.
We learned a lot about climate crises across Cape Cod and what resolutions are in the works. We learned a lot from on topics such as planning for coastal resilience, electrifying transportation on Cape Cod, and what can be done as an individual, but also as a community.
Through this event, we met a variety of people from different buisnesses and backgrounds whom were interested in our club. We appreciate support from other change activists.

Receiving the youth stewardship award from CARE for the Cape and Islands

Nauset High School’s Green Club recently received the Youth Stewardship Award from CARE for the Cape and Islands. CARE is an environmental organization dedicated to inspiring residents and visitors to protect the Cape’s natural landscapes and wildlife. The Green Club has partnered with CARE’s founder on a notable sustainability initiative, successfully replacing single-use plastic silverware in the school’s new cafeteria with reusable metal alternatives. This collaboration gave CARE deeper insight into the Green Club’s impactful work within the Nauset community. In recognition of their efforts in promoting sustainability and environmental stewardship, CARE honored the club with the award during a reception following the Take Care Cape Cod Summit. Additionally, club members were granted memberships with Cape Cod Young Professionals. Congratulations to the Green Club—Go Warriors, and go Green!
Youth Climate Summit
Youth Climate Summit
On February 6th, 2025, our club was lucky enough to attend the Mass Audobon Youth Climate Summit at the Cultural Arts Center in Harwich. Some of our club members were on the executive board for planning this event. We are so proud of all of your hard work Annika and Jessie!
At this event, we heard from local organizations on all sorts of climate change topics, including what work their groups do to combat climate change. Having interactive breakout sessions to work with students from other schools allowed us to practice real-world problem solving skills.
Another significant aspect of this summit was the mock town hall meeting where we were given the opportunity to face a board and share our opinions on a topic.
Not to mention, the lunch provided was so yummy!
Overall, this event was extremely educational and all of our club members that attended had a great time.

On March 9th, 2025, we were the guest presenters for the Chatham UU Meeting House's church service.
This opportunity was a great way to share our club's work with our community, allowing us to inspire others to incorporate more sustainable habits in their daily lives. We presented on climate change across Cape Cod, worldwide, and our club's steps to action.
Speaking to members of the church after the event was extremely illuminating. Everyone was so welcoming and supportive, congratulating us on all of our accomplishments. We were also given several great recommendations for things to think about in the future, including working more closely with the younger generation, reaching out to restaurants to give them sustainable suggestions, and more.
We are very thankful for the community built around us, and we are excited to keep close contact with the church and work with them again in the future.
