Nauset Regional High School encourages all students to give back to their communities.
The calendar year for submitting community service hours is as follows:
Seniors: May 1, 2026 is the deadline to submit community service hours for the current school year.
Underclass: Underclass can submit community service time sheets until the last week of school year unless you have done 100 hours in one year then hours should be in by June 1, 2-26.
WARNING: Be sure to keep your service hours up to date and submit hours to the office in a timely manner.
Hours submitted for previous calendar year will be recorded for college resume purposes but will not be counted towards a Silver Cord award.
Examples of community service:
Aide in library, museum, hospital, nursing home, Council on Aging
Beach clean up
Charity collection drives, Walk-a-Thons or road races
Recycling projects
Religious education teacher (without pay)
Tutor
Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity projects, Recreation Departments
Fundraising for Nauset Boosters or for a club that is donating money to a cause

Examples of what is not considered community service:
Anything during school hours
Community theater
Court assigned community service
School leadership activities (i.e. Student Council/Senate)
Travel time
Fundraising to benefit individual sport or club is not community service: i.e. bake sale to raise money for dance/prom or class events
