Hillel at Northern Arizona University is the home for Jewish life on campus. We welcome students of all backgrounds who are interested in exploring Jewish identity in an open and inclusive environment.
Our mission is to create a warm, supportive space where students can celebrate Jewish identity, build lasting friendships, and engage in meaningful conversations about life and the world around us. Whether you’re looking for a place to share a holiday meal, study, or hang out with friends, Hillel at NAU is here for you.
At Hillel NAU, you’ll find opportunities to:
Celebrate Jewish holidays and traditions together.
Participate in community service and social justice initiatives.
Explore Jewish learning through discussions, guest speakers, and cultural programs.
Craft! We love to make anything from a clay mezuzah to a painted seder plate.
We are proud to be part of the national Hillel movement, supporting students as they grow into leaders, thinkers, and active citizens who shape the future of Jewish life and the world beyond.
No matter where you come from or how you connect to Judaism, you’ll find a home at Hillel at NAU.
Hillel welcomes a diversity of student perspectives on Israel and strives to create an inclusive, pluralistic community where students can discuss matters of interest and/or concern about Israel and the Jewish people in a civil manner. We encourage students to inquire as they explore their relationship with Israel. We object to labeling, excluding, or harassing any students for their beliefs and expressions thereof.

Hello, my fellow Lumberjews!
My name is Dr. Jamie Jean Rivkin, and I have been the professional advisor for Hillel at NAU since December 2022. As a Jewish-American, I understand the importance of building community. It is an honor and a privilege to work with students. I enjoy our time together and all we accomplish.
Don't hesitate to get in touch with me with any questions at Jamie.Rivkin@nau.edu.
As an ordained rabbi, I hope to help illuminate the divine within the Jews I serve, provide pastoral care and life cycle events, teach, lead meaningful services and holiday events, and balance Jewish life in my community. I gladly welcome all individuals and families: all Jewish lineage, Jewish adjacent, Jewish curious, interfaith, LGBTQ+, trans safe space, and anyone seeking an accepting, loving community.
My mission is Jewish advocacy through Education, Torah, Tradition, and Community. My goal is to provide low or no-cost Hebrew School, Adult Education, Torah Study, Life Cycle Services, Holidays, Community Events, and continue supporting Jewish college students at the Hillel at NAU Club and on campus.
