My Honors Capstone utilizes independent undergraduate research in conjunction with Dr. Brooke de Heer in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, and Dr. Stephen Nuño in the Department of Politics and International Affairs. I am researching reproductive coercion in domestic violence and its intersection with systemic/state violence to create a publication that will inform future policy decisions. My research will be conducted as a narrative review to submit for publication in December 2026. I completed CCJ 485 - Independent Research, and plan to contract POS 304 - Understanding Political Inquiry to combine my Honors and Political Science Major Capstone.
I intend to learn more about the intersection of gender based violence within the current political system of the United States through independent research that will progress my personal and professional goals of fighting injustice through education and determining a future career path with the intention of going to law school.
