An intramuscular injection is a technique used to deliver medication or micronutrients deep into the muscles. This allows the medication to be absorbed into the bloodstream quickly.
Some of our micronutrients can be given IM or intramuscular if you are running shot on time this could be a great option for you.
Before administering your IM injection you will meet with a Nurse to determine which IM injection is best for your needs
We will give you a few options for your needs and educate you on each micronutrient.
Once your nutrients are selected a Nurse will draw up your injection. Injections are typically given in the hip/buttock area do to the consistency or the nutrients. We will provide you privacy during your injection, and monitor you for 15-20 minutes to make sure you don't have any reactions.
Standard IM injection last in your system anywhere from 3-5 days. Some will feel effects within 1 hour of receiving an injection, sometimes it will be the following day. NAD is also given IM and has different absorption times and protocols.
This all depends on the micronutrient. Each micronutrient has a different protocol. Some can be given 2x's/week, 1/week, or every 8 weeks. Your nurse will review your chart and discuss your needs before administering your injection, and also help you setup a plan to stay on track with your nutrient deficiencies.
