The Nurtured Heart Workshop is a one hour introduction to ‘positive parenting’ - an effective technique that can help parents transform children with the most difficult behaviors. This workshop, tailored to parents of K-6 children, will provide parents insight into how focusing on positive behaviors can help eliminate negative ones! Using short videos and a collaborative, group approach, parents will be encouraged to share their experiences with each other in a safe space. This workshop will give parents tips on how to support their overachieving children and teach positive coping strategies.

Although parents may be aware that children and teens die by suicide, they often do not think it could happen to their child or in their community. From this training parents and primary caregivers will learn about the prevalence of suicide and suicide attempts among youth, the warning signs of suicide, how to respond when they recognize their child or another youth is at risk, and where to turn for help in the community when a crisis occurs.
