Volunteers

Please note that at this time, Natomas Charter School is working on plans around safe volunteering and field trip opportunities for the 2021-2022 school year during the COVID-19 pandemic. More information will be available soon.

If you are interested in volunteering in the classroom, please click here to fill out the form.

Check the document below for a schedule of regular volunteers. If you signed up for sporadic volunteering, I will contact you when I need additional help. Please do not come to the classroom to volunteer without contacting me beforehand (I want to make sure I have work for you to do).

Please note the following requirements for classroom volunteers:

  • Volunteers are expected to be reliable and on time. Please let me know if you cannot make your normal volunteer time.

  • Volunteers are expected to maintain confidentiality about student behavior in the classroom.

  • Volunteers should not become distracting. Please obtain childcare for younger siblings and do your best to allow your kindergartener to work independently in the classroom. If your presence becomes too distracting to your student or other students, you may be asked to complete prep work in an alternate location.

Field Trips

Chaperones will be randomly selected for each field trip. You MUST be fingerprinted through Natomas Charter School in order to attend a field trip (see Cindy, Mary, or Maribel at the front desk for more information). Please note that field trip chaperones are expected to participate and avoid distractions during field trips (e.g., follow teacher instructions, actively watch students, avoid cell phone use, etc.). Chaperones who do not meet these criteria will not be asked to join us on any following field trips.
