This is a game for (ideally) three players, but can be adapted for two.

• Divide the deck into two stacks and place them in front of two players who are the soldiers; the third player is the General.
• The General says, "salute!" and the soldiers each put a card up to their heads without looking at it. At this time, they can only see the value of the other soldier's card
• The General announces the sum of the two soldiers' cards.
• Each soldier deduces what his or her own card is based on the sum and the other soldier's card.

Remove the face cards from a deck of playing cards and place the deck, face down on the table.

• Each player chooses 5 cards and places the cards in front of him.
• The first player uses the 5 cards to create as many equations as he can in which the sum equals ten. For example, If I have 9, 9, 3, 2, 4, I could make the following equations: 9+4-3=10 and 9+3-2=10
• After making as many equations as possible, player sets aside the used cards and play passes to the next player.
• Play continues with players refilling their hands to 5 cards at the start of each turn.
• Whoever uses the most cards by the end of the deck wins.

Can be played alone too! Maybe keep a log of equations!

Great for kids working on number recognition, classic Go Fish is always a winner.

• Shuffle; deal seven cards to each player (five if there are more than 3 players). The remaining cards are used to create "the pond".
• After organizing the cards in their hand by number or royals (Jacks, Queens, etc.), the player to the left of the dealer begins, becoming the fisherman.
• The fisherman asks any other player if they have any of a specific number, one they already have in hand.
• If they do, they hand them over and it is still the same player's turn. If they don't, they say “Go Fish!” and the fisherman selects a card from the pond.
• If a player collects four of the same number (or royal), they form a bookwhich is laid face up on the table.
• After collecting a card from the pond, the turn ends and the next player becomes the fisherman.
• Play continues clockwise until all the books have been collected. The player with the most sets wins.

The object of War is to win all the cards in the deck. This is a great game for number recognition and comparing value.

• Deal out the deck face-down into two equal stacks; holding the stack of cards face-down in one hand, you use the other hand to flip the card face-up on the table in front of you.
• Each player flips a card, so you have two cards facing up in front of you.
• The highest card wins the trick and the trick winner takes the 2 cards and places them at the bottom of his or her stack of face-down cards.
• You continue play like this until one of you has accumulated all the cards.
• In the game of War, a war is a means to break a tie: When two cards of the same rank are played, you break the tie by playing new cards in addition to those already on the table. Place three cards face-down on top of the "tie" card. On the count of three, flip the top card over. The card with the highest value takes ALL of the cards on the table.
• When one player runs out of cards, the other player wins.
