The Spanish Curriculum

The Spanish curriculum focus will be through a communicative approach using the four skills to learning a language:

1. Reading

2. Writing

3. Listening

4. Speaking

Students will use these skills to learn the grammar, vocabulary, and different aspects of culture and civilization of the 21 official Spanish speaking countries.

Grades K-3 will know and understand the basic terms and vocabulary. Grammar will slowly be introduced and advanced in each grade. Grades 4-5 will reinforce vocabulary by introducing basic concepts of grammar. Grades 6-8 will begin taking high school level Spanish 1. At the end of their 8th grade year, the 8th grade students will take the Foreign Language Placement exam, passing the exam allows the student to move up to Spanish II in high school

  7. Child is more likely to have a better oral proficiency.
  8. Child is more likely to acquire a more natural accent.
