Sacraments
The children will receive two Sacraments this year: First Reconciliation and First Communion. Additional information will be given soon. Please check notes throughout the year for parent meetings, retreat day, etc. These notes will come from the Parish Religion Education office. The meetings will answer all your questions. Religion is not only a “taught” subject, but something that is stressed in our everyday lives at school. Please make every effort to attend Mass each week with your child. It will give the students a better understanding of what is being taught in the classroom. Please review prayers with your child daily.
First Reconciliation: Saturday, February 8, 2020 A review sheet will come home in the January 8th Wednesday folder. Please practice with your child every night. They must know their prayers too! The dress for the sacrament is nice dress clothes.
First Communion: Saturday, May 2, 2020 9:00am Please look out for the Parent Meeting information for First Communion.

Dear First Communion parents/guardians,
This is a reminder about the First Communion parent meeting that is coming up on Thursday, February 13th at 7pm in the Church.
Our Directors of Religious Education and our Pastor, Fr. Bob Cilinski, will speak to parents and guardians regarding this special sacrament as well as requirements and important dates. The meeting will also provide an opportunity to answer questions you may have about this very important step in your child’s life. (Please note that this meeting is for parents and guardians only and childcare is not provided.)
A couple of things to get ready for the meeting:
Payment-We will be collecting a one-time processing fee of $ 20.00- cash or check only. Make check payable to NATIVITY RELIGIOUS EDUCATION, please write your child’s name on the memo line.
Jesus Day Retreat Sign-up- Attached you will find the Volunteer sign-up form. If you would like to volunteer at the retreat, please fill out this form and return to us immediately. We will be collecting this form at the meeting, you are also welcome to drop it off at the RE office or send them to us via email to: nativity.ccd@nativityschool.org. Deadline to sign-up is Tuesday, February 18th.
NOTE: Please arrive early to take care of payment and to pick up a packet. We will start at 7pm sharp. We will take payments before and after the meeting. We will stop taking payments a couple of minutes
before the meeting starts.
