Middle School to High School Pathways
In Natick, all 5th and 6th graders are placed into standard math classes. Standard math classes cover grade level content and material.
During 6th grade, data is collected to determine placement for 7th grade.
In 7th grade, students are placed in either the standard 7th grade math class or a 7th grade accelerated math class. The 7th grade accelerated math class covers all of the 7th grade level content and material and two thirds of the 8th grade level content and material.
During 7th grade data is collected to determine placement for 8th grade. In 8th grade, students are placed in either standard 8th grade math class or 8th grade algebra. 8th grade algebra covers one third of the 8th grade math content and all of the algebra content and material.
