Hello Families,

I hope you and your family are doing well! We are continuing to push forward with our remote EL work. We have been preparing for the upcoming ACCESS test (a standardized test in English that focuses on your child's listening, speaking, reading and writing in English). Here are Brown School we are still figuring out how this will exactly happen and more information will soon follow. Continue checking in with your child and asking them about what we are learning. In all grades we will be moving into another unit in our REACH curriculum towards the end of the month and I will update with information when details are finalized.

Thank you for your continued support through this process!

Updated December 1, 2020

Families,

I want to start this update by saying thank you! This school year may not look like anything we are used to, but it has been incredible! I am so happy to see the growth your children are making in their English language development. The students are working so hard and I feel like we are getting into a rhythm. I am finding new and engaging ways to provide students different opportunities to listen, speak, read, and write in English. The Cohort Calendars have been updated and will continually be updated each month.

Towards the end of December we will be changing our focus and celebrating the winter holidays we celebrate within each of our cultures and families (I will send an email closer to the time to give you more information). This will be a chance for your child to share pictures and stories about themselves and how you celebrate with friends and family! It is something I am really looking forward to!

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and I look forward to our continued work together!

During our sessions we will be continuing to work on building English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing!

The calendars have been updated on each grade level page.

Just a friendly reminder that attendance is taken at each EL Session.

Hello Families!

I can't believe we are already at the end of September and the first couple weeks are done! We will continue to work on listening, speaking, reading, and writing in interactive English language practice. We have begun our first unit where we are discussing how to help the other members of our community.

Please continue to use this site to locate information about when your child has their EL sessions. The website is broken up by grade level and cohort (each then has a calendar with updated dates and times of our meetings).
