Scoring

Score in CC is different than most sports in CC the lowest score wins. Points are award based on the place a runner finishes and only the top 5 runners from each team can score points. 

For example: 1st place earns 1 point and 2nd place earns 2, etc.  So if a team was to sweep the top 5 places they would win with 15 points, this is the lowest amount of points you can have.

If the meet is clearly lopsided the losing team may be granted the scoring positions after the 7th finisher for the winning team despite their actual place. i.e  If Kennedy takes places 1 - 7 the opposition would then be scored positions 8 9 10 11 & 12, regardless of actual place.  This act of sportsmanship keeps the score from potentially being embarrassing for either team.
