In History and Social Sciences, students examine the diverse cultures of the world and the manner in which human beings view themselves in and over time. History includes the study of people, places, and environments. History examines how people create and change structures of power, authority, and governance. The Social Sciences include the study of individual development and interactions among individuals, groups, and institutions.

Department Exemplar Work: This writing is an example of the level of work we are building towards during the Freshman writing experience in Social Studies at Natick High School. This student utilized the Honors Challenges on an essay to develop and illustrate some of the writing skills necessary to excel in an Advanced Placement class in their Sophomore year.
