A SEND and Neurodiversity Advocate is someone who actively supports and champions the rights, understanding, and acceptance of individuals with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) as well as those who are neurodivergent. Her role includes:
Navigating Systems: She helps individuals and families understand their diagnoses, access appropriate services, and navigate educational and support systems.
Empowering Families: She supports parents and caregivers in coming to terms with their child’s diagnosis, providing emotional guidance and practical strategies.
Workplace Advocacy: She assists employees who are parents or carers for children with disabilities, helping them manage work-related stress while balancing family responsibilities.
As a SEND advocate, Natalie play a crucial role in promoting inclusion, understanding, and positive outcomes for neurodiverse individuals and their families
Conducting workshops for parents and caregivers of children with disabilities, special educational needs, and neurodiversity.
These workshops are designed to assist parents in understanding and accepting the impacts these changes might have on their lives, while also providing them with the techniques and strategies necessary for managing their own emotional health as they care for their dependents.
The workshops incorporate methods from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other therapeutic approaches to empower parents with the resources required to succeed and excel in their roles.
Natalie works with families to help them come to terms with the diagnosis of their SEND child or children, providing support and understanding during this often life-changing experience. She also collaborates with adults and late teenagers (ages 15 and up) who have been diagnosed with neurodiversity, guiding them to comprehend how their diagnosis affects their lives and the significance of embracing the uniqueness of their thought processes.

Resources and Techniques: Equipping clients with the resources and techniques to identify and interpret their emotions, as well as methods to navigate their emotions and environment effectively.

Natalie collaborates with organisations to assist them in recognising the potential additional stress their staff may face due to parenting neurodiverse children and those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). She conducts workshops for staff members to help them understand how this might influence their co-workers and to foster empathy within the workplace context.
Additionally, Natalie supports neurodiverse employees by providing them with coping mechanisms and embracing their unique qualities. By working with human resources departments, she focuses on improving their understanding of how to support neurodiverse individuals and parents of SEND children.
She also offers coaching and counselling services for any employees who may require it, providing them with a confidential environment to express themselves and supplying them with strategies and tools to excel at work while maintaining their mental health.
