As we reach the end of another wonderful year, it is hard not to reflect on just how much has been achieved and celebrated over the past twelve months. The final few weeks have been filled with our usual Sports Days, performances, special events, and opportunities to come together as a community. These moments have provided the perfect opportunity to recognise the remarkable talents and achievements of our children.

This has been an exceptionally positive year for Nash Mills. Our pupils have continued to make fantastic progress, not only academically but also in their personal development. We are incredibly proud to share that most of our outcomes this year are comfortably above national averages in almost all areas. In Reception, 81% of children achieved a Good Level of Development, compared with around 73% nationally, while in Year 6, an impressive 40% of pupils achieved the highest standard in reading. These achievements reflect the hard work of our children, the dedication of our staff and the tremendous support that families provide at home. We have also loved seeing reading continue to flourish throughout the school, with initiatives such as the Chapter Challenge and World Book Day helping to inspire a genuine love of books and storytelling.

Beyond the classroom, our outdoor learning provision has continued to go from strength to strength. The introduction of our new garden area earlier this year has been a particularly exciting development. Although the recent hot weather has presented some challenges, we are looking forward to seeing the space flourish again in the autumn. One of the most memorable aspects of this project has been seeing the whole school come together, with older children supporting younger pupils and governors lending a hand with the digging and development of the area.

Our wider curriculum and enrichment offer also continues to grow. Throughout the year, children have benefited from a wide range of trips, visits, clubs and experiences designed to broaden their horizons. We are committed to providing children with the very best opportunities possible, and we are delighted that next year's calendar is already full of exciting events and experiences for the children to enjoy.

Nash Mills continues to play an important role within the wider local educational community as well. We are proud to support other schools through our counselling service and by leading and contributing to a range of local networks, including those focused on SEND provision and support for Headteachers. This work helps ensure that we remain at the forefront of developments and enables us to secure the very best support for our children and families.

None of these successes would be possible without the fantastic team that drives our school forward every day. I would like to thank our dedicated staff, who consistently go above and beyond to support our children and provide them with exceptional opportunities. I would also like to thank our governors for their guidance and commitment throughout the year. Most importantly, thank you to our wonderful children, whose enthusiasm and kindness make Nash Mills such a special place to be.

Finally, thank you to all of our parents and families. Your support, encouragement and partnership make an enormous difference to the life of the school and we are incredibly grateful for the way you work alongside us to help every child succeed.

At this time of year, we also say goodbye to some valued members of our school community. We would like to thank Mrs Phillips, Mrs Dileni and Mrs Jeffery for their dedication and contribution to Nash Mills and wish them every success and happiness in the future. We also say farewell to our Year 6 pupils as they move on to the next stage of their education. They leave us with many wonderful memories, and we are enormously proud of all they have achieved. We wish them every success as they begin their journeys at secondary school in September.

All that remains is to wish you all a wonderful summer break. We hope that you enjoy some well-deserved family time over the coming weeks and that the children return on 2nd September refreshed and ready for the exciting opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

Sporting Success

We are delighted to share that we have been awarded the Gold School Games Mark in recognition of our commitment to promoting sport, physical activity and healthy lifestyles throughout the past year.  This award reflects the wide range of sporting opportunities available across the school. We are incredibly proud of everyone who has contributed to this achievement.

A special thanks to Mrs Lewis who, as our PE lead, ensures that many of these opportunities take place and that we are represented at so many of the local competitions!

Looking ahead, we are excited to welcome Mr Liu, our new PE Teaching Assistant, who will be joining us in September. With Mr Liu's support and expertise, we look forward to developing our provision even further, creating more opportunities for all our children.
