Year 2 Multisports!
The children in Year 2 had the opportunity to take part in a range of sports this week. They participated in fitness challenges, strategic challenges and team challenges. They had a fantastic time and all tried their very best. Activities included a range of skills for the children to develop, including how to play games strategically. We also saw pupils from a range of other local schools, participating alongside peers helped our pupils to appreciate all of the fantastic skills that they have.

Strategic
It was fantastic to see so many clubs starting this week and so many of our pupils being able to access them. In total, we now have 17 clubs taking place across the week, offering children from across the school the chance to try out things that would not normally be part of our curriculum offer. It is fantastic to see so many of our club spaces being taken up too; this term we have over 320 places at clubs available each week, the vast majority of which are full. Over 75% of the pupils access at least one club, some access more than this.
Clubs are run by teachers in their own time. We do this because we feel that it is a really important time, in which the children can learn new things, develop skills and play with other children that they might not otherwise come across. It also gives staff the opportunity to share some of the special additional skills that they have!
Football Report
Nash Mills entertained St. Paul's Chipperfield on Thursday afternoon. The team showed fantastic resilience to fight back from a goal down to win 5 - 1. One of the best things to see was the spirit and support the boys showed each other and that showed in their second half performance where they stretched their lead and played some fantastic football. Goals were scored by Dylan, Henry and Alfie.
In this week's attendance league, Year 4 took the crown with an outstanding 99.33%, showcasing their dedication and resilience in these challenging times.
Year 3 followed closely with a strong 98%, maintaining their position as one of the top performers. Both Year 2 and Year 6 demonstrated solid efforts, each achieving a commendable 95.67%.
Lower down the league were Nursery, who made an appearance with 93%, while Year 5 and Year 1 were closely matched at 92.3% and 92%, respectively. Reception faced a tougher week, coming in at 90.97%.
With illnesses and bugs circulating, it's crucial to emphasise the importance of good hygiene practices. Please remind children to wash their hands thoroughly and frequently, and to carry tissues if they have a runny nose. These simple steps are vital in maintaining a healthy school environment and ensuring that everyone can continue to attend school safely.
Thank you for your continued support.
Our TTRS leader board this week reflects accuracy, how many times the children are correct when they're answering calculations and it is amazing to see 3 different names up on the board. Well done!
Our Numbots leader board shows how well children are doing in the challenge mode with subitising (knowing how many objects are in front of them without counting!). Well done to our top 3.

If you receive any of the following, your child may well be eligible for the Pupil Premium. This provides them with free school meals throughout their time at school, but also a range of additional things in school to help with their learning and engagement. If your child might be eligible, please visit the following site (https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/ufs/HCWH.eb?ebd=0&ebz=1_1717745705707) or speak to the school office who will be happy to help.

Following our theme of Joy, I asked some of our Key Stage 2 pupils for a question for this week's thought...
When was the last time you laughed out loud?
What is the funniest thing that you have seen this week?
What thing from home brings you the most joy?
