Year 4 visit to Hampton Court Palace
On Wednesday, Year 4 visited Hampton Court where they enjoyed exploring the palace making great connections to their learning about Tudor monarchs and exploration. After a self guided tour to begin with, we were treated to a fantastic workshop where a member of Sir Walter Raleigh's crew explained all about why they went exploring and what it was like. The children looked and listened really carefully at everything around them and then we enjoyed a picnic in the sunshine and a brief trip to the play area.
This week’s attendance figures show some fantastic improvements across the school—well done, everyone! Year 3 takes the top spot with a brilliant 98%, closely followed by Year 5 at 97.6% and Nursery at a strong 97%. Year 6 also maintained a solid 96.7%, continuing their consistent performance.
Further down the table, Year 2 came in at 94.8%, while both Year 1 and Year 4 recorded 94.3%. Reception saw a slight dip to 92%, and we’re hopeful to see that bounce back next week.
Thank you to all our pupils and families for your continued efforts—every day in school counts!

Have a look at this quote from the fantastic Mae Jemison. Mae is the focus of the children's book 'Look Up'. If you haven't read it before, it is a great illustration of how we are all important to each other and how we sometimes have to wait to see the best things in life. You can see the story here.
What do you think she is trying to tell us in this quote?
