Graduation Requirements/Credits

Below you will find information regarding credits and graduation requirements. As you begin planning for plans after high school, it is important that you read and understand some of the districts policies and requirements. NASD Graduation Requirements

• 24 Credits Required for ALL Students

• 2 Focus Areas (Students choose ONE):

  • Traditional Academic

  • Career & Technical

Students who graduate from Northampton Area High School in 2022 and later shall have satisfactorily completed the following minimal course and credit requirements in one of the following two focus areas. Students who graduate from Northampton Area High School with a Traditional Academic Focus, beginning with the students in the Class of 2024 and continuing thereafter, shall satisfactorily complete a level II World Language Course.

Requirements for Promotion

• 9th to 10th grade: 6 credits and must pass English 9

• 10th to 11th grade: 12 credits and must pass English 10

• 11th to 12th grade: 18 credits and must pass English 11

Class Rank

• Beginning with the Class of 2022, class rank will not be entered on transcripts.

• Decile ranges will be posted on transcripts after 6th, 7th, and 8th semesters.

• Students graduating in the top 5% of class will be honored at graduation, and “With Honors” will be noted on diploma and transcript.
