After you apply to the program, the IP Advisors will review your application and transcript to ensure that you are meeting the NAHS graduation requirements, and will have the ability to take required coursework for the Innovation Pathway in Advanced Manufacturing. You will then be contacted to attend an informational meeting where the expectations and requirements of the program will be outlined. If everything looks good, you will be asked to sign a Student Expectation sheet to confirm your participation in the Program.
From grades 9 through 11, you will take coursework that will meet the graduation requirements, and begin taking courses that qualify under College Coursework or Technical Coursework for the Innovation Pathway. In addition, you will be invited to attend various programs. In the past, these have included visits to local engineering firms, Massachusetts Manufacturing Mash-Up at Gillette Stadium, and the Manufacturing Day Career Exploration Experience in Providence, RI.
During your senior year, you will complete course the requirements of Program including completing a Capstone Project in which you will design and build a tangible product to solve a current problem of your choice. This project will require at least 100 hours of in-school and out-of-school work, and you will receive support both in school and through one of our Employer Partners.
