I love to introduce coding. It can be taught at any level with the fantastic tools that are available now. Robot Mouse creates mazes where you need to program the mouse to get to the cheese. This is a great introductory tool to teach the basics of coding.

Flipgrid is a free tool available on all devices. It literally flips the camera around on the student. Teachers can check for understanding, start discussions, and reflect on assignments. Students have their voice heard in an effective and engaging way.

Code.org is a website that provides lessons and tutorials that teach the basics of coding. You can watch videos and play games that help you on your coding journey.

Ozobot brings coding to the next level. It can be used on it's own or with an app available on all devices. Using blockly coding, you can program the Ozobot to dance or follow a sequence of directions.

It works like a piece of paper. It gives you an empty page, a padlet, and you can add whatever you like on it. You can add videos, audio files, pictures, text, or upload files. You can choose different wallpapers and themes.

Now that we are a Google district, we have access to all of the amazing tools that Google has to offer. Google Slides is a presentation tool that can be used in a multitude of ways. Ask your 4th and 5th grade students about our Choose Your Own Adventure project!

Read and Write is a Google Chrome extension. Once downloaded, it will stay in your tool bar waiting for you to use it. It has a long list of features that help with reading and understanding writing. Some of these features include having the article read back to you, creating vocab lists, accessing a dictionary, and highlighting a passage.

ChatterPix Kids is great for younger grades. You take a photo, draw a line across where you want it to speak, and record! When played back, your "pix" will "chatter" back your recording. A great presentation tool for student voice.
