Taking the first step into therapy can feel daunting, and it is completely natural to have questions before you begin. I hope the answers below help put your mind at rest, giving you a clearer sense of what to expect and how we can begin working together in a way that feels comfortable for you.
Every therapy session is different, because what you bring will be personal to you. I offer a safe, confidential and reflective space where we can gently explore what feels most present or important.
This may include emotions you are finding difficult, patterns in relationships, questions around intimacy, everyday pressures, past experiences, or anything else you feel ready to talk about. The work is led by you, at a pace that feels manageable, with space to pause, reflect and make sense of things together.
Therapy sessions cost £50.
All fees are payable 48 hours in advance of each session.
I offer a free 30-minute consultation for new clients. This gives us a chance to talk through what you are looking for, answer any questions you may have, and see whether working together feels like the right fit.
Cancellations
Life is busy, and I understand that illness, holidays and unexpected commitments can sometimes mean you need to cancel or rearrange a session.
I ask for 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. Where less than 48 hours’ notice is given, the full session fee will be charged.
Therapy sessions usually last 60 minutes. We will agree a regular session time together, and sessions will begin and end at the agreed time.
There is no set number of sessions that is right for everyone. Some people come to therapy to explore a specific issue and find that a shorter period of support is helpful. Others may benefit from longer-term therapy, allowing more time for deeper exploration, reflection and personal growth.
The length of therapy will depend on your individual circumstances, needs and what you hope to gain from the work. We can review this together throughout the process and talk openly about what feels most useful for you.
I am also mindful that therapy is a financial commitment, so where possible I aim to have honest conversations about what feels manageable and realistic.
I offer therapy sessions both in person and online.
In-person sessions take place in a calm, private setting, while online sessions can be a helpful option if you need more flexibility or would prefer to work from the comfort of your own space.
We can discuss what feels most suitable for you during the initial consultation.
Confidentiality is an important part of the therapeutic relationship. I treat what you share with care and respect, and I keep client information, session notes and records private and secure, in line with ethical and legal requirements.
There are some limited circumstances where confidentiality may need to be broken, such as if there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, or where I am legally required to share information. Wherever possible, I would always aim to discuss this with you first.
I am registered with the HCPC and work in line with their professional standards and expectations. I am fully insured and committed to offering a safe, ethical and professional therapeutic service.
I also undertake regular clinical supervision, which supports reflective practice and helps ensure that my work remains thoughtful, responsible and grounded.
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and am registered with the ICO, taking the protection of your safety, privacy and personal information seriously.

There is no obligation to continue afterwards. If we decide to go ahead, we can then arrange a regular time to meet and begin the counselling process at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
