Our philosophy for coaching basketball is to generate a passion for not only the game of basketball, but the game of life. It is vital for our athletes to understand that they have a purpose in this world that is greater than any game. Our athletes will each set personal and team goals and will fight to achieve them in disciplined effort. Our athletes will learn that success is reached by working hard and making individual sacrifices for the betterment of not only the team, but the program. As we experience successes and times of adversity, we will rally together to deal with them with class and grace. Through these experiences, we will become a family.
We must remember that our priorities are family, academics, and then basketball. These are all very important aspects of one’s life and can have a healthy balance with the right attitude.
We believe that the game of basketball gives young women an opportunity to be risk takers in a healthy arena. Throughout the game, they will be challenged with obstacles and will learn to deal with them in a positive manner.
As our female athletes go through the girls basketball program at Naperville North, they will become better people, students, and basketball players. Most of all, they will become empowered women. They will learn commitment, accountability, and sacrifice. Our athletes will play the game with passion and pride while learning to love and respect one another. Our athletes will leave a legacy of success for future Huskie basketball players.
The goal of the Naperville North Girls Basketball program is to develop and sustain a total program atmosphere. Our program will strive to be a collective unit led by coaches, players, and parents.
Integrity
We will choose right over wrong, ethics over convenience, and truth over popularity...“Travel the path of integrity without looking back, for there is never a wrong time to do what is right.”
Work Ethic
We will always talk about the process, not just the result. We will celebrate every little accomplishment. We will not view our mistakes and failures as such, but as teachable moments.
Collective Responsibility
Each member of our program plays an integral role in our success. We will win and we will lose, but we will do it together.
Toughness
Through rigorous preparation, we will be mentally and physically tough. We will take risks and not be afraid to fail.
