FAQs regarding Google Classroom

Google Classroom is a Learning Management System which gives teachers and students a digital space to teach and learn. Teachers are able to share classroom announcements and assignments and connect with students to extend continuous learning beyond the walls of the classroom. Google Classroom is a part of the Google for Education core services platform which provides access to tools, features, and content on internet capable devices through the use of students @student.nafcs.org G Suite accounts.

NAFCS sees Google Classroom as the best tool fulfill the need of an online Learning Management System. Google Classroom is fully integrated with the G Suite platform which provides a range of tools allowing students to create authentic classwork demonstrating their learning.

Students are expected to check in regularly to Google Classroom to understand the classwork required of them. This classwork may be packet which can be viewed online and or printed off to be completed and returned. Teachers in upper grade levels (7th-12th grade) may use Google Classroom to collect assignments and student work directly in the platform.

NAFCS Technology Services has provided a Technology Support Request for which can be filled out here if you are having technical issues with using Google Classroom. As well your student's teacher(s) will be able to provide support in how to use Google Classroom to find and complete required classwork.

Encouraging your student to regularly access Google Classroom in order to view and understand the classwork is the most important support you can provide as a parent/guardian. As well we encourage you to review the content and information shared here. If you have specific questions on how your student's teacher(s) will use and organize their Google Classroom pages, please reach out to them directly.
