This camp is designed to prepare students in grades 6-8th to be safe when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.
The instructor-led class is filled with fun games, role-playing exercises. Students even get to use manikins to proactive rescue skills like choking rescue!
Safety Skills
Students learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with danger such as power failures or weather emergencies.
Life and Business Skills
The abilities to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers will set students up for success now and in the failure. Students practice these skills through various role plays.
First Aid and Rescue Skills
Learning skills such as choking rescue often students' favorite part of class. Students also learn a system to help them asses and respond to injuries and illness.
Child Care Skills
Students learn tips to manage behavior that will help them stay in control of themselves and the children in their care. Student also learn the ages and stages of child development, as well as practice diapering.

WHAT:
Funded by Duke Energy Foundation, this camp will be ⚡ELECTRIC ⚡ Join us for the Prosser W.I.N.C. Week Camp where 8th grade students can explore our 6 program areas offered at Prosser that they could study as a high school student. Program areas include: Design and Construction, Health Sciences, Human Services, Information Technologies, Manufacturing, and Transportation. Campers will experience hands on training and live demonstrations from female Prosser students, teachers, and business partners and will leave each day with a tangible take away item.
This camp is generously funded by The Duke Energy Foundation which provides philanthropic support to meet the needs of communities where Duke Energy customers live and work. The Foundation contributes more than $2 million annually in charitable gifts to Indiana and is funded by Duke Energy shareholder dollars.
