What is the NACURH NRHH Board of Directors (NNBD)?
The NACURH NRHH Board of Directors (NNBD) is where the regional affiliates meet to discuss the matters of NRHH, such as any issues concerning the state of the honorary. While ADNRHH’s lead their respective region in the NNBD, anyone interested can attend NNBD meetings to learn more about how they can support their own NRHH chapter.
What are the campus, regional, and national OTM selection committees?
OTM selection committees work to select and vote on the OTM winners in their respective categories. Starting on the campus level, OTM Coordinators can be NRHH Presidents (or the equivalent there of) and they can create campus OTM Selection Committees, which would select the best OTMs at their institution that would go on to the regional level. The same would be for the regional OTM selection committee, except this is run by the ADNRHH, and the NACURH OTM Selection Committee works to select the best OTMs across NACURH.
What does philanthropy mean to NRHH?
Philanthropy is essentially service, which is one of NRHH’s core values! You can provide service in a number of ways on your campus, and if you are struggling come up with ways to serve, you can always use the ideas from the philanthropy projects at the NACURH and Regional Leadership Conferences.
What is the NRHH quarterly meeting?
The NRHH Quarterly Meeting occurs each Fall and Spring, and is a time for NRHH chapters from across the country to discuss NRHH business, hold roundtable discussions, and see how NRHH chapters function at their own institutions.
When is the NRHH Fall quarterly meeting?
October 6th, 4:30-6:30pm MST or 3:30-5:30pm PST.
Is there anything specific to NRHH at conferences?
Yes! NRHH has specific awards they can vote on, as well as roundtables or breakout rooms, a social, and a philanthropy project that anyone can participate in.
Are there NACURH NRHH Committees I can join?
Yes! Those committees include:
NACURH OTM Selection Committee: “The NACURH OTM Selection Committee shall be responsible for assisting the NACURH Associate for NRHH (NAN) with the selection of NACURH-level Of The Month (OTM) awards.”
NRHH OTM Database Task Force: “The NRHH OTM Database Task Force is responsible for determining what NRHH and its affiliates needs in an Of The Month (OTM) Award database. This task force will also work in collaboration with the NACURH Corporate Office in the creation of that database.”
NRHH Policy Committee: “The NRHH Policy Committee is responsible for reviewing the NRHH Governing Documents (NRHH Policy Book and NRHH Bylaws) for redundancies. misspellings, outdated services, and other inaccuracies to better match policy and practice within the honorary.”
NRHH Strategic Planning Committee: “The NRHH Strategic Planning Committee is charged with enacting the current NRHH Strategic Plan. This includes handling data collection, reviewing policy, and developing the future of the honorary.”
What are OTMs?
"Of the Month" Awards, aka OTMs, are a great way to recognize aspects of your campus that have gone above and beyond!
When are OTMs due?
OTMs need to be submitted by the 10th of every month.
What is the submission process of OTMs?
Initial Submissions: OTMs are initially written and submitted on the campus/institutional level. Initial submissions are due by the 8th at 11:59pm HST but institutions may set deadlines as early as the 1st.
Campus Level Winners: OTMs are then voted upon by the campus level OTM voting committee and submitted to the regional level by the campus level OTM coordinators by the 10th of the following month at 11:59pm HST.
Regional Level Winners: OTMs are then voted upon by the regional OTM voting committee and submitted to the NACURH level by the regional AD-NRHHs by 17th of the following month at 11:59pm.
NACURH Level Winners: OTMs are then voted upon by the NACURH OTM voting committee with winners released by the 24th of the following month.
Are OTMs graded?
Yes and no! OTMs are graded on, in a sense, by their OTM Selection Committees, but really the committees decide OTM winners by voting on them.
