Chorus

The ensemble is open to all students in grades four and five.  There are no auditions and students will not be required to sing alone.  Solo auditions may be available for those who want to try out, but they will be entirely voluntary.

Chorus rehearsals will take place in the morning from 7:45 to 8:15 on cycle days one (1) and three (3).  Students  will report to the music room for rehearsals.

Chorus members are expected to attend District concerts.  Performance dates are scheduled as follows.

• December 2026, District Concert #1, NACS MS/HS Auditorium, Ellenburg, NY

• March 2027 MIOSM Field Trip, Empire State Plaza, Albany, NY

• May 2027 District Concert #2, NACS MS/HS Auditorium, Ellenburg, NY

• June 2027 AYV Field Trip, MVP Arena, Albany, NY

Chorus members may additionally participate in the following performance events depending on interest.

• PEAK Classroom Music Festival. This is a fun day of music workshops for select chorus students.

• NYSSMA Spring Evaluation Festival. This is a unique vocal opportunity that is offered only to chorus members.

• NYSSMA Major Organization Festival. This is an adjudicated performance for a rating.
