There were so many to try and we all had our favourites.

On a lovely sunny day in October the two first classes went on a Nature Walk together.

While we were on our Nature Walk we were using our Maths Eyes.
We collected things from Nature to show that we see Maths all around us. Can you work out what Maths we made?

After we used our Maths Eyes we made some lovely Art with our nature collections that you got to see at home. Here we are hard at work making them.
Houses and Homes
The Design Phase...
When we were studying about homes and houses we got the opportunity to design our perfect house. You can clearly see how much thought is being put in to the designs.
... and Construction.
We brought in cereal boxes but we brought home our dream houses. It took a lot of work and so much masking tape but we worked hard to bring our designs to life.
We finished our work on houses by creating an interesting and welcoming street for our houses to be on.
Thank you 5th Class!
We had a visit from the boys and girls from M. Miriam's 5th class. We read to them from our favourite books and they read to us too. Everyone had a great time.
FREE ART!
We got to be really creative and we were able to make anything we wanted. There was painting and drawing and cutting and sticking. Whether we created a masterpiece to bring home or just relaxed and doodled it was a great afternoon for everyone.

PE - GAA
We have been so lucky to have Rebecca from Eadestown GFC coming in to coach us in Gaelic Football. We have great fun and our confidence grows each week.
Drop Everything and Read!
Reading was a very popular activity in our class all year. We enjoyed DEAR Time, especially when it was our turn in the calm corner, and we loved our weekly trip to the school library.
World Book Day was so much fun! We got to dress up as our favourite book characters or authors. M. Aoife's 4th Class came to visit and we talked about our favourite books and took turns reading them to each other.
Seachtain na Gaeilge
We put on an amazing performance of a poem and a song in Irish in front of the whole school. We practised really hard and it went so well!
Flying High!
We were scientists and engineers during the year too. One of our experiments was to make and decorate a paper aeroplane. Then we had to make it fly with straws. It was really interesting trying to figure out the best way to do it. Some of them went really far.
Sports Day
We did lots of activities for sports day, like the egg and spoon race and the sack race, and playing with the parachute. We also did skipping and we could see how much we had improved after our Skip Around the World Challenge with the whole school in May.
Class Rewards
We kept working hard and doing our best all year. We all worked together to get our class rewards and had so much fun with them. One of our favourites was the Dance Party!
