There are six online courses offered in this program over a 6-month period. Each course content delivery format is flexible and maybe subject to a student-instructor arrangement. This program is free and available to subscribers.
This course is a one-month introductory course to communication in health care. It entails the basic communication best practices, standards, formats, documents, tools and mediums used in a medical office/health care setting. At the end of this course the student should be able to appreciate the basics of communication in a health care environment.
2.Computer Applications in Health Care (CCHOA022002)
This course is a one-month introductory course to computer applications in health care. It covers a range of computer applications used in a medical office/health care setting. At the end of this course the student should be able to use the computer application skills taught in this course in a health care environment.
This course is a one-month introductory course to ethics in health care. The meaning, purpose, branches of ethics, application and ethical practice areas in a medical office/health care environment will be covered in this course. At the end of this course the student should be able to appreciate the basics of ethics in a health care environment.
This course is a one-month introductory course to basic data analysis in a health care environment. It entails the scope, purpose, use, best practices and tools for analyzing data in a medical office/health care setting. At the end of this course the student should be able to appreciate and use the basic concepts and data analysis skills necessary in a health care environment.
This course is a one-month introductory course to record management in health care. It entails the meaning, purpose, various acts and regulations and best practices on record management in a medical office/health care setting. At the end of this course the student should be able to appreciate the basics of record management in a health care environment.
6.Basic Medical/Health Office Skills (CCHOA022006)
This course is a one-month introductory course to basic office skills required in a health office. It entails scheduling, use of health office equipment, petty cash accounting, safety and security standards and office arrangement used in a medical office/health care setting. At the end of this course the student should be able to use the basic medical/health Office skills taught in this course in a health care environment.
