The Mt. Zion Ministry Fellowship provides a clear, biblically grounded process for recognizing and equipping ministers. Every pathway is built on our conviction to see Christ formed in each person, in our church, and in our community.
All candidates are evaluated on:
A verifiable call to ministry
Alignment with Mt. Zion’s Statement of Faith
Ministerial Competency Outcomes (Levels I–II)
Christian character and integrity
Willingness to walk in accountability and oversight
Who it’s for:
Those actively serving in ministry who need recognized spiritual authority.
Qualifications:
Age 18+
2–4 years ministry experience
Developing Level I Competency
Process:
Application + references + belief statement
Interview with Credentialing & Endorsement Committee (CEC)
Educational requirements (case-based; may include Mt. Zion courses)
Final recommendation by CEC
Church Council approval and public commissioning
A developmental credential for leaders progressing toward ordination.
Process includes:
Application & interview
Competency assessment
Educational expectations
Final recommendation & commissioning
(Used when someone shows calling and fruitfulness but needs more time before ordination.)
Our highest level of credential for those called to lifelong pastoral ministry.
Qualifications:
Proven ministry experience
Demonstrated theological clarity
Emotional and spiritual maturity
Level II/III competency
Process:
Application + initial interview
Educational requirements (case-based)
Mentoring with a pastoral leader
1,000 pages required reading + theological paper
20-question written theological exam
Final CEC interview
Optional ministry project
Recommendation to Council + public ordination
Granted automatically upon completing Commissioned Minister requirements.
Affirms readiness for non-ordained ministry roles: chaplaincy, missions, worship, teaching, pastoral care, outreach, etc.
