Robot Rodeo has been going on for over 10 years, hosted by Peshtigo SkillsUSA. Watertown SkillsUSA has offered to give Peshtigo a break for a year and we have every intention of holding to the same standards from the past decade! What does that mean? Challenge your teams and robots in different ways while having fun for the day!!!
Event will be hosted on 2nd floor of our HS near the Library. Teams can have access to our Tech Ed space if needed for repairs. But plan to bring what you need for a full day of Robotics. Lunch will be provided to all registered participants. Non registered observers can attend for free - but will need to buy lunch or bring it in. HS and MS will be competing against each other - Trophies will be custom made for the top 5 teams.
This is a great Pre-State event to put your bots through the ringer and see if they hold up, or know what to improve by April :) We are excited to host your teams at Robot Rodeo in Watertown this year !!!
Location: Watertown High School, 825 Endeavour Drive, Watertown, WI 53098
We are going to be upstairs at the far end of our school for this event as there are other events going on this day. So be ready to haul your robots and supplies a ways inside (no close doors to park and unload) and go upstairs or elevator. I suggest having stuff in wheely totes or bring a cart if able. We will try and have some carts available as well by front doors. Watch for signs as there is a large basketball event going on as well in gym and commons - past where you will be walking.

Team Pits: We will have a dedicated table and 2 chairs for each team to use as their pits for the day. Not sure if we will have power at the tables, but power stations will be provided for sure. We will have a seperate area for extra people drop zone - goal is the team is able to do their own work and trouble shoot and sometimes that is difficult if the advisor has a chair at the same table as the team :) But we are not policing that advisors can not be by the pit areas - just no chairs.
Station 1: Presentation
We plan to have the teams give their USR Oral Presentation to a Judge(s). This will follow the State/National USR Guidelines for the most part. No surprises here. We will try and provide feedback to teams after all presentations are complete.
Station 2: Maze Course
Just as it sounds, don't get lost!!!
Camera allowed - No Spotter.
Station 3: Donkey Kong Course
This course will have multiple levels, multiple ordinances, and things "might" move during the timed run! Hmmm... :)
Camera and Spotter allowed.
Station 4: Communication Course
Watch out for our Gosling version of the State Communication Course :)
Spotter allowed - No Camera.
Station 5: Main Course
It will be big!
Camera and Spotter allowed.
