Term Overview
For Term 2, the project successfully transitioned from theoretical mathematical design to a fully operational, hardware-in-the-loop edge network. The core deliverables included integrating a physical ESP32 edge node with a DHT11 environmental sensor, deploying a local Mosquitto MQTT broker on a high-performance Rock Pi gateway, and securing the administrative layer behind an Nginx reverse proxy coupled with an outbound Cloudflare Tunnel for encrypted remote HTTPS access. Under current steady-state, non-adversarial baseline conditions, the custom Dash-and-Flask-based monitoring dashboard demonstrates that the calculated Behavioural Trust Index tracks flawlessly at exactly 1.00. This stable logging phase successfully maps natural network jitter and calibrates the temporal trust decay factor ($\alpha, providing a rock-solid empirical foundation heading into Term 3, where custom malicious firmware variants will be deployed directly onto the edge nodes to evaluate the system's resilience against active protocol manipulation attacks.
